Sue has been in retail, design and sales for over 30 years. Her love of working alongside her customers throughout the process of designing, building and furnishing homes led to the search for unique, high-quality furniture and accessories to compliment her customer’s relaxed lifestyle living – thus the start of Roughing It In Style in 1997, and within the last 7 years, the expansion into three locations.

Ky Chavez

Interior Designer

Kyrene grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she studied at the University of New Mexico’s School of Architecture. This path was fueled by her interest in interior design. After college, her dreams lead her to colorful Colorado. Her passion for design continues to be inspired by creative space planning, solving challenging workspace functionality, and collaborating with clients to create their perfect, unique space. Ky achieves balance with the use of different textures and eye-catching pieces. Whatever the project may be, Ky will incorporate your diverse needs and translate your ideas into a comfortable, captivating timeless space.

Interior Designer

Interior design and staging is a passion of Cher’s. Cher has over 30 years of home staging and interior design experience where she has designed and fabricated window shades, valances, soft treatments, decorative pillows, bedding sets, and reupholstered headboards, chairs, and sofas. It was a natural transition for Cher to start her second career as an interior designer at Roughing It In Style

Cher has an intuitive approach with her customers to bring their visions to reality. She brings a positive and refreshing approach to each design opportunity. Born and raised in Wyoming, Cher has a true appreciation for the rustic lifestyle. She loves creating warm and inviting spaces that say “Welcome Home”.
